Artivist Stafete (2021-2023)
About:‘Artivist Stafetë Project’ aims to improve the environment for active citizenship and civic participation by providing CSOs with tools to grant marginalized groups and side-lined voices in Albania with cultural instruments, empowering each participant to use artivism as a driver for change. The project works with key actors and grassroots initiatives in the civil society sector in Albania granting participating organizations with capacity-building tools in the arts (artivism, film, podcast, and community art through Walls of Connection) with which to empower individuals to become active actors and agents for social change through participation in policy shaping and decision making at a local, national and EU level. The project works to provide financial assistance to over 40 local civil society organizations through sub-granting schemes in Tirana, Dürres, Korca, Elbasan, Pogradec, Berat, and Dibra and it provided 95 mini-grants to individual filmmakers, storytellers, and podcast makers to realize their artistic productions on human rights/LGBTi rights and active citizenship.
Our role: Stichting art.1 developed the concept behind the project, providing the methodologies for artivism, storytelling, film, and podcast, also conducting capacity-building activities (training and mentorships) to 45 civil society organizations in 8 cities throughout Albania (Tirana, Durres, Pogradec, Dibra, Berat, Elbasan, Viore, Kortca). Furthermore, Stichting art.1 bears co-responsibilities for the re-granting of € 400.000 to Albanian CSOs through various sub-granting schemes and the final reporting of the project with project partners.
